Why Join Patrol4x4.co.za?

We need some sort of intro that defines what the forum is about. Whilst it is a forum for Nissan Patrol owners, it is also open to friends with a love for offroading and overlanding. For me, there are 3 main categories:
a. About Nissan Patrols – core focus
b. Trips and travels – secondary
c. Campfire – tertiary
Here is an attempt:

This forum is intended to be a virtual home for Southern African owners and enthusiasts of the Nissan Patrol. Anyone who is interested in the vehicles and the travels that they make possible, is welcome here. This forum is intended to be the place to:

* learn about all models of Nissan Patrol that were available in the region
* share and gain technical knowledge about the vehicles and their application
* share trip and travel experiences
* establish contact with likeminded people

Not being a Patrol owner, I joined to learn more about the vehicle, which is, of course, on par with a similar Cruiser but considerably more affordable. Owning a Cruiser was always an ambition of mine, but since reading up on the Patrol - here and on other 4x4 forums - I am asking myself: Why? The Patrol is as good, has a better drive-train, and is more affordable.

So it is a good starting point for those of us who desire more knowledge of the Patrol as a serious over-landing contender.

Just thought I'd share this... ;)

Good point, F_D. I have changed my proposal slightly based on your input.

Hi Gerrit
I just bought a patrol 1999, used to own a cruiser, would like to know why you made the change, i made the change as LC are getting expensive to maintain or even upgrading, people are just asking to much for their LC

I would (but English is not my mother tongue, so I might be wrong) emphasize more on the fact that you really can learn about issues / problems with your Patrol here and that, when you address an issue, you get helped well, friendly and quickly.
So maybe another point might be

- get help to rectify and sort out issues you get with your Patrol

Simply put .... There is a HUGE amount of knowledge on this forum.... and ALWAYS a willingness to assist even when the help comes from over 1500Km away!!

I have asked some really doff questions.... cause I didn't know any better.... I have learnt a lot over the years, and enjoy now being able to answer some questions that others starting out don't know.
Regards
Cedric
