Can I get some views / comments on locking nuts?
I have been to Midas and see quiite a range of products.
And I have no idea which is best, best value, what works and what does not etc.

Is this locking nuts for the rims you are talking about? If so the ones with a key for the spare work ok, but I would think that on the active wheels this would not be a good plan as they would fill up with mud/dust ect. Land Rovers come out with one lock nut on each wheel (different size and shape to the others and you get a adaptor to get them off) first thing I do when I get my Landies is to remove them and chuck them in the bin! I have been stuck twice in the middle of nowhere where I cant change the tyre because I cant find the adaptor. In 25 years of offroading and overland travel I have yet to have a wheel stolen so I do not see the need!

Thanks, then I won't bother.
I was told for some of the neighboroung countries, such as Lesotho, locking nuts may be necessary when you overnight.
But seems it is more trouble than any good.

Well, I'll go nuts if that happens.
Only a very spitefull rim thief will do this.
One nut per wheel is just not enough to drive.
I have learned that two is not enough either.
Three can manage though (provided of course the rim fits, as Tour de Frans has outlined)
This reminds me of Gogga Adams's bowling action, which apparenly was developed from trying to steel hub caps from moving cars.
Maybe a worwhile enquiry to make:
Who has lost their nuts and / or wheels on trips before?

Its Lesotho. The people in some areas are so poor and there is so little they cultivate the grass required to thatch their huts and you don't see a single scrap of litter because everything but everything has some economic value. Including your wheelnuts. Depends upon where you camp. :-)

Never lost anything on a trip, but I have had two sets of wheels stolen at home...
