Just to update this thread, according to my Fuelly log I can't see any measurable difference between 93 and 95. Just too many other factors.

I'm wondering whether high compression pistons are available for the 4.8 and whether the fuel price would make it worth one's while fitting them. A friend of mine had a Land Rover Defender 147" (yep, that's right) with a Rover 3.5 V8 with 10.5 pistons and that thing hauled ass even with a big military trailer behind it!

Our Fuel wont allow for higher compression on the 4.8 :naughty:
Gu y61 wagon- 6.0L chevy
Gu y61 pickup- 6.2L chevy

Tour de frans - het niks met n bicycle uit te waai nie.
