Hi Ross,

Started in 1999 with my first Conqueror Safri trailer that was bullet proof. Never had an issue and the dome tent that fitted on the top worked very well. In 2011 Swambo saw the Conqueror Comfort. It is our boskaia and works very well. Keeps Swambo happy with all the extra’s and we have been through Namibia and camp regularly with no major issues. The only problem was a water leak which was fixed asap.

John,

Only comment for me is enjoy kitting it out. Must be the most fun I had with my Troll.

Hi Ross,

You could look at the Courage. It can be bought very basicaly and you then have the rote via Conqueror to upgrade at your leasure.

Grant and Tinus, many thanks for your inputs.

I hadn`t been aware or the Courage option...it looks very nice. I wonder how the price of a base spec Courage compares to a XT120? Must make some inquiries.

Hi Ross, thanx for your PM. I post here for the benefit of the group.

I sold the XT120 again, but not after also taking it on a trip to Moz. When I sold it, the rubber suspension had started twisting out, which was a concern. Fortunately it was replaced under warranty.

Overall, not a bad trailer, maybe I just pushed it too hard?

I have a venter botz special that I use as a luggage trailer I must say it works hard...
it is rated at 750kg because it has no breaks but have loaded it much more it works for moz trips when we go for a month at a time and when I need to work there I carry pumps and drums of cable in it . The spare wheel swing arm got lost on a trip and had to replace shocks twice but over all I am happy . No cracks on body and it has been working to hard . I depends if you want to use it for more than one thing or convert it to a camping trailer only . The price on some of them is scary ....cost more than your patrol and that for two weeks a year????mabe get a good second hand one for 15 to 20 k and make it the way u want it ?

John and Tinus,

Many thanks for your replies.

Sounds like the Jurgens rubber axle is definitely a concern...I wonder whether there is any difference in the spec of the 2009 model`s axle vs what they are sold with now? A couple of years back I came across a Jurgens Caravan with a broken axle (also rubber) on the Sesriem - Walvis Bay road in Nam, and have seen several other caravan related failures posted on the net, but John`s experience is the first indication that this design also gives trouble on trailers as well. This is a great pity, because I really like the look of the rest of the trailer, but there is no sense in buying something that cannot take the abuse of bad roads.

I've been a big Metalian fan, and this thread has just re-inforced my opinion.

Much like cars, the safety aspect is often overlooked.

imho, if you're in the market, maybe give them a call and go have a look; you could probably do a lot worse.
