West Coast Easter weekend trip
Groenrivier and southwards - PART 1
Well... suffice it to say, the weather was a "little" windy and chilly this past Easter weekend (nothing a little sherry couldn't ease) along the West Coast.
The "NEW" Patrol worked to perfection (barring the minor niggles (still to be sorted out by the "wayward Nissan Dealer".
I couldn't have been happier with my new Troll
Attached are a few photos that should say more than mere words....
A communal braai was the order, at the end of the day, with campfire-talk, laughs and good scary tales for the younger ones ....
Quite a few mussel-pots were cooked on the first evening (Friday 29th March, that turned out to be the "warmest and driest" night... from the 2nd day on, the wind mounted-a-rally and there was rain almost all Sunday and Monday, with the occasional fall, throughout Saturday.
The end of the outing culminated in a "REAL" seafood chow-down at Lamberts Bay harbour restaurant.
Looking forward to the next West Coast outing .... even with no running water, no ablution block, no electricity and no shops nor cellphone reception ....

Re: West Coast Easter weekend trip
Hi Patrolers,
Thanks for the replies. It was a really good experience to make-do, with what you bring yourself, and a good learning-curve for future overlanding outings, where one has to be totally self sufficient.
My wife & I learnt what items we need to bring for the next trip, and the items that are space and weight WASTERS....
Thanks Jules for the reminder to get the EGT gauge fitted as well ...
Next outing is later this month to Pearly Beach, and hopefully, Botswana in June ...
