I do not want to Hi-Jack Jorrie's topic but want's to know what will be the shocks to look at if you want to replace them but stay standard, no lift required?

Dolf, in my opinion you should be able to use the shocks from any of the popular suspension upgrades with a lift of up to 3-4 inches.
I say this because with all these lift kits, the bump stops are not moved and should still prevent the shocks from bottoming out, thus the shocks need to be short enough to work with the standard bump stops. And these shocks should be a bit longer in the extended position, thus giving you some usefull extra articulation particularly at the back.
I am under the impression OME's should give the best articulation, but it might also be worth while to speak to Mikem.

Just to clarrify the reason many people opt for a body lift. This will improve the articulation as you will be able to shorten the bumpstops. I removed the stops on my troll and had the experiance of the wheel jamming itself against the inside of the wheel arch. If the body was lifted another two inches, I could get a little more articulation. My shock are imported and are extreme long travel shocks, but I have decided against the body lift, as it would then struggle to get into most parking lots, or my gaurage at home.
TJM, Iron Man and OME shocks for the 50 mm lift can be fitted to the standard coils. Find out what warrantly each of the suppliers have and also remember that both TJM and OME have been tested with Voet Spore so both are very good and will offer similar performance.

Peter, when going to 4" lift, you cannot use the 50mm lift shocks. You need to get the matching shocks.

I have been following this thread closely as I am also interested in installing a lift kit. Part of me wants to install the tallest lift I can find with 35" monster Muds, this will make me the coolest dad ever and it will look "kick-@ss" to say the least regardless your age, whilst what I need is probably only that extra inch over and above standard that I felt I could have done with when I climbed that island parking spot at the local mall on the 23rd of December 2007....
Suppose what I am getting at is that we probably want more than what we need for 99% of the time, so I have decided to let sanity prevail and fit either the OME or TJM 2" lifts because they are the most reliable compromise to standard.
Natural progression now dictates that I start considering Tyres to fit to this "raised beast", is there a table somewhere that anybody has perhaps generated in the past to indicate what size tyres can be safely fitted to a 2", 4", or six inch lift with little or no scuffing problems.
Gotta fill those holes.... right????

Just to confirm then, 33" muds will fit in a 2" OME lift with little or no scuffing under full articulation? WOW, thats great news 'cause that would have been my preference, I also do not think that the 33" tyres will rob the engine of to much usable power and torque or am I missing the pot?
