one of the first problems I picked up with the vehicle was that the was some play on the suspension bushes.

I will replace all the bushes with the Terrain Tamer Pro Bush kits, but I started with the Panhard Rod bushes over the weekend.

I almost forgot, I changed the thermostat as well on Saturday. This made a big difference with getting the vehicle to running temperature. It us to take several kilometers to reach the running temperature of the vehicle, now it is 5 minute. This assist with minimizing the friction causing ware in the engine. It also assist with heating the cabin in the when Bloem is at -3deg. :rolling:

Cedric, I bought studs the other day. 1.25 pitch and the correct head size (just can't remember what that is), from a local bolt supplier. Pretty sure they can get longer as well.

Supplier is Turbo Fasteners (http://turbofasteners.co.za/), and they are basically just over the road from Tentco.

Price was ridiculous. Something like 1/10th of what Nissan charges...
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.

Over the weekend it was time for the front radius arms to receive new bushes. I replaced the standard bushes with castor correction bushes and the arm to chassis bushes. The Castor correction bushes comes with an installation manual with the exact placement of the bushes printed on. This worked very nice and all fitted first time.

I had to remove the second battery solenoid as well. It seems that at some stage a short damaged the unit and some of the wires.

I will fit my CTEK charger and second battery in the back of the vehicle.

I have not posted for a while. I was preparing for our trip to the Kgalagadi. Before we left I did the rear trailing arm bushes on the Patrol.

The car did very well with the new suspension bushes on the corrugated roads. We took the road between Van Zylsrus and Askham. 168km of corrugation.

Next step will be new coils and shocks. The shocks that are in the vehicle is leaking oil all over the place.
