So I installed a full system in a Patrol - really nice
Recently I have been doing wiring repairs, Madman installs, dual battery Installations and some vehicle audio systems.
I did a bit of a fix up in Michael's patrol with the audio and the dual battery system and since then somehow word got round and I've ended up doing a few car audio systems.
Car audio is not new for me. I competed in Sound quality competitions in the late 2000's and early 2010's. I did all my own wiring which was judged for safety, neatness and creativity by the install judges. Then there was the listening judging... which is where I excelled.
Anyways, I was asked to install a full system with double din touch screen, amp, speakers front and rear, a small underseat subwoofer, and a rear view camera.
I included some decent cables and constrained layer damping (sound deadening) in the doors.
It turned out to be a really nice little system. Everything is hidden away or covered by factory panels except the tweeters in the A-pillars and the head unit itself.
Here's some pics of the build process and a little video clip at the end...

Apart from being very happy with the final result, I think what is most rewarding is being part of an ecosystem that promotes trust in things being done the right way.
We are lucky to have this forum guys, trust is precious, let’s protect it!
