Nissan Juke - With Snow Tracks

Not PATROL, but interesting...

"The crazy Juke Nismo RS that showed up on Twitter the other day wearing a set of Mattracks (We've been informed they're actually the Dominator Track System. —Ed.) isn't a photoshop job. Nissan tells us their European colleagues actually built the thing using an AWD Xtronic CVT-equipped Juke as the base vehicle. And they're going to take it to northernmost reaches of Finland—ice- and snowbound Lapland—as a support vehicle for an ice-driving event.

And they're calling it the Juke Nismo RSnow. Seriously.

Surprisingly, it didn't require a lot of modification. Before bolting on the tracks, the front and rear fascias were modified a bit, probably to prevent the tracks from tearing them right off. The company also had to reprogram the torque-vectoring AWD system slightly so it knew what was going on. After all, tracks are a lot different than wheels, and nobody likes a confused AWD system when getting out of Lapland alive requires the vehicle to actually move around.

Nissan thinks it'll top out at around 62 mph as it sits now. The conversion cost roughly $15,000 on top of the price of the Juke itself. We're expecting video of the Juke in action shortly; check back for more."
