i-Pad advice please...

Howzit guys,

I need to get an i-Pad for my 5yr old Daughter (turning 6 next week). this is for school used for downloading/using various educational, reading & speech proficiency apps.

I am looking at the i-Pad mini2 32Gb @R5000 from i-Store or Incredible.

There is also a cover that needs to be bought @ R900

WOW!!! this is 2X What I spent on my first car!!!

I may end up just biting the bullet, as this is for my child, but I was wondering if anybody knows of a better place to go?

I would consider a second hand unit, but I don't know enough to sift through the loads of online offers & scams.

I am scared that I spend close on 6K only for it to be destroyed in a day or two.

Also I've been told that second hand units can also have poor battery performance.

Anybody know of a good second hand option or a better store to visit??

Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

Regards

JP
