Re: Opsoek na Dome Tent
Just been through this exercise and eventually bought a new one from Tentco (Senior Baobab) as the guys on the internet's 2nd hand prices where mad for 2nd hand. After I bought it I actually saw that they had display models which are discounted so you may want to go take a look.

Re: Opsoek na Dome Tent
Ek het self een gehad wat ek einde laas jaar verkoop het. Daai tent, veral die ext gedeelte is baie werk om op te slaan. Weeg ook alles saam oor die 80 kg. Hoe gaan jy hom gebruik: oornag, naweek of langer?

Re: Opsoek na Dome Tent
Micheal, tents are much like everything else. Each to his own I guess. I just thought i would share my experience with you. I cant comment on the extension. I only have the 3x3 dome tent from tentco and it was the best investment I have ever made. I have had it all. Conqeuror trailer. jurgens excape caravan. The best I camped up to now was in this tent. Yes its heavy, but no or less wind resistance compared to a roof top tent. Dont know if it heavier. If it is it cant be by much. You have ample space for a nice plush bed. You can stand up and get dressed in side it. You can fall out of it without braking your neck. It can stand in the worst of winds and storms. Very durable. In the begining it takes some time to set up. Once you got your groove it goes quickly. My wife and I are down to less than 10min and thats with the ground sheet. setting it up. Taking it down is even faster. It a great all rounder. For one nights and longer stays.
I did my whole Namibia trip in this tent and it was great. I am now looking to by the extention for long stays and rainy season. It cant be more effort then setting up the jurgens excape caravan tent or the circus tent of the conqueror.
The display ones at a discount sounds like a great option. I unfortunatly dont know of any foresale. Sorry dude

Re: Opsoek na Dome Tent
Dankie manne vir julle advies
I actually did get a 3x3 dome with extension second hand for R5,500 from a guy in JHB. The guy camped wigh it twice and the tent is only 8 months old.
I really wanted a dome tent as I used Tinus's twice now and it works for me. Its very sturdy, dry when it rains and doesnt take up all that much space.
Sal hom op slaan en bietjie pics post

Cool... Did you get the scull cap with the dome? That way you can use just the dome for short stays and only put up the extension for longer stays.
