Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

My 2000 model Patrol 4500EFI engine in mint condition is for sale, complete with wiring harness ECU radiator etc. The vehicle is a daily driver and any test is welcome, serviced by Nissan dealers. The engine can be pre wired and started on the floor. I am going to do a Diesel swop, 6BT Cummins or TD 42T. Is R25 K a fair price?

I think 25k is a fair price, I might be wrong but maybe some petrol guys can give their opinion.

Please keep us posted on the engine swop..... I would love to see a 6BT in a Patrol and how it performs. I am very fond of those engines, but will not attempt it myself so will really enjoy seeing how someone else pulls it off.

I think a TD42t will be an easier task and they are brilliant engines. If you can pick a factory turbo bakkie engine you are sorted. They are very strong and have the right internals

As for the model 4500EFI is referring to Toyota engine, the Patrol is called TB45E.

Maybe for the records, what's the mileage on this motor?

For the diesel swap, the TD42T might be easier in terms of compatibility (maybe just dreaming) but it remains a donkey and doesn't have real power.

I know, because I have both TB45E supercharged and TD42T Intercooled from Japan, It's an okay machine but short of exciting.

You need to bring that 4.2 td of yours this side of the boerewors curtain ........so we can orginise you some desent power. .....my td42t kicks my 4.8 arse from standstil all the way to 140kmh ......those 4.2 makes power if you know where to fiddle ....Michael has a great track record with them ....
