Jerry can swop

Post by Peter Connan »

Hello all

A friend of mine would like to swop two yellow diesel jerry cans for two green petrol jerry cans.

The cans he has have been used for only one trip.
Reason: He has come to his senses and now drives a 4.5 Patrol!

PM me if you are interested.
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.

I have 5 green ones that should be yellow, also basically brand new...still have the price tags on....haha

I have no problem swapping with your mate Peter.

If anyone else has excellent condition yellow ones to swap for green.... we can arrange something!!

Absolutely no difference other than for identification purposes

Green = Petrol
Yellow = Diesel
Blue = Water

The blue water cans have a much bigger lid. They should also have an epoxy coating on the inside.

Consequently, the spout will not fit the water cans.

AFAIK the green and yellow are identical. You also get a smaller 5l red can, which has the same lid as the fuel cans and can be used with the spout. I use one for parrafin (for easy fire-starting), but I do not know what they are really supposed to be for.

Convention green, yellow and blue. Petrol, diesel and water. like the green/yellow, blue and brown wires on household appliances. will work in any format as long as L-L N-N E-E is connected, but open the door for a lekker boggerop.

Blue is lined to prevent rust, green and yellow differ in colour only.

To maintain law and order, to prevent chaos on a convoy trip. I use petrol in the yellow can, nothing ever happened. May dissappoint a boef or a fellow camper.

Stick to convention, always better.
