Nissan Patrol Steering Damper for Sale

I have a brand new Patrol steering damper for sale for R600.
Wilfred bought it for me in UAE on his last trip - but does not fit the 4.8.
I know it fits the 3L Short wheel base, but not sure what other model it fits.
The reason it does not fit the 4.8 is that the bolt attachments at the ends do not do not extend linearly ie in one straight line as they normally do.
This damper has the bolt attachment at 90 degrees to the longitudinal direction of the damper.
The label on the package reads:

Nissan Genuine Part
Damper-Steering
48611-VC000

Lots of reports on this forum that the aftermarket ones do not last as long as Nissan part Tinus

Tinus, I have not yet changed the damper on my vehicle. I removed the old one before the new one arrived, and when I saw it was wrong part I put the old one back. Its condition was better than I expected.

Chris ill check how the bolts on my 3.0 looks if they are the same your diagnostic shop will be taking it as mine has 255 000km on already

Hmmmm.... would it fit the '99 - 4.2 diesel, or is the damper the same as on the 4,8???

Ricter, check your damper and see where the item bolts onto the steering parts. If the bolts are in straight line with the axis of the damper then it will not fit.
The only vehicle so far identified to take this damper with the bolts at 90 degrees is the short wheel base.
The item is still available though at very good price - so, guys check your dampers....it will be a waste to send this back to UAE if it could be of use to someone here in ZA.
