Does anyone know of someone who has a back bumper for a 1993 SANI lying around collecting dust? A pensioner mate of mine did a magic reverse trick with an epic fail rating...... :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: .... shame I shouldn't laugh, cause I did a similar thing with my SANI many years ago.....

I twice needed a Sani back bumper as I bought them already not great and could never find one for love or money. Take the pipe bumper from a Hardbody or Colt and modify the brackets. If I remember correctly the Colt's was actually easier to modify. They should be available cheap on Gumtree/OLX etc and if you need I have a connection for powder coating.

Did same reverse trick at the river trip last year. Reversed into a huge boulder at "some" speed.
Luckily my bakkie got a decent back bumper.
Would have been a different story if I did it with the 4.5.
Only evidence of the mishap is a small dent on the body, bumper is still fine...

That bumper should be the same as most of the Hardbodies of the day, so scrapyards could be your best bet.

I had a 97 bumper (plastic section) that I was saving for just in case. But I landed on a rock with it and the lower section had shattered. I was glad to get it off the car, along with its steel carrier, that bumper weighs in at around 50kg. I can add a bunch of steel bits for 50kg, and I have already started by adding two 16mm plates to the carrier of the towbar onto the chassis that work as recovery points.

Christo, was it a straight forward fit or did you have to modify anything?

Sorry bud, can't remember that far back! But if it did require modding, it could not have been much for me to forget about it completely?
