LED Replacement bulbs

2016 has been a tough year for many, including me.

I have been given a little business opportunity selling LED replacement bulbs, Light bars, LED spots and work lights.

If I'm honest, its an industry in which I don't have too much experience, however, one can clearly see that the products are high quality.

The prices are pretty reasonable too.

I thought that us patrol owners really like to look after our vehicles and apply intelligent modifications that enhance the safety, driving experience and abilities of our patrols. So, I thought I'd throw out the net (so to speak) here.

I'll put more info in the next post...

Hi Dustin

Yes I do have a price list but it's too long to post here, so I will be posting a "patrol friendly" list

I am going to try not be a Kiljoy here but;

LED Lightbars

Are illegal in Botswana even if covered or separetly switched and have heard you may not even have it loose in the vehicle.
I think it is the same in Namibia.
Are illegal in SA - Technicality to do with max 6 lights facing forward spaced evenly from centre line plus there is the 1, 4 m high rule which makes all those roofrack ones illegal. The only place I know this is being enforced is the EC where guys have had their licence discs confiscated and have had to re roadworthy. Of course it is only a matter of time before the rest catch on to this money making exercise.

LED Spotlights

Not sure about Bots but I know there is an issue in Namibia.
Only illegal in SA if they do not have the SABS mark on (I think E?) but as far as I know none of the imports have the mark.
I know of no enforcement yet but they will catch on at some stage.

LED replacement bulbs

I know of no reason why not other than on the indicators they do not draw enough current so they flash too fast and even if you fit the special unit to correct this which does not even work.
I have the white LED globes in my reverse and park lights and they are brilliant. I do not need a work light while launching a boat in the dark etc.

All I am saying is be careful before investing money in a business that may be dying and could expose you to a potential lawsuit from a customer who gets nailed.

There is also no 2nd hand market as I have been advertising my 72 LED (19 000 + lumen) lightbar for almost a year for R 1 500 and have not even had a call.
