I have had a few inquiries about the 6mm spacers. So will start round 4

It works out to R75.00 each. So R300.00 for a set of 4, or R375.00 for a set of 5.

Here is some info for reference.

Put me down for a set of 4 thanks. Would it be possible to manufacture 20mm spacers for oversize spare wheels? I could really use one for my spare 285/70R17.

Lets see what can be done. I'll chat with Juice and get back to you.

If I may, I think it's a much better idea to space the bracket away from the door, rather than spacing the wheel away from the bracket.

I was thinking the same as Peter,

I think Christo ( Chuck ) made a 20 or 30mm square tube frame that then fits between the door body and the tyre mounting bracket. I think this will give a better anchoring and distribute the load better too. I have a 6mm spacer on the bracket of mine and it becomes a little tricky to keep the spare wheel balanced on there till I get a bolt in it. The spacer does work better than nothing though.

Would it be a good idea to have 1 spacer in the toolkit for when you need to borrow a spare wheel from a non Patrol mate? I think it has been mentioned before that the spacer will also help to clear the ridge on Patrol hubs.

I had thought of that option too, but what material? I was thinking of nylon or aluminium cause mild steel is going rust before it's even mounted to the vehicle. It would need to be galvanized and powder coated to last at the coast.

I made some spacers out of thick conveyor belt (without the steel re-inforcing) and put longer bolts in. So far so good

Ricster you can cancel my order. I'm swapping parts with another forum member so I'm sorted. Thanks
