That second one.... hmmmm..... looks like a GU pickup "bakkie" load bin, on the Safari/Patrol ( GQ shape ) cab. This may be a rebuild. If it is, its a damn nice rebuild. It is DEFINITIVELY NOT a 1999 model. The GU shape took over from the GQ in 1998 !! This may be a wrecked rebuild that was registered again in 1999. This may have come into SA via Zimbabwe/Zambia/Botswana?Namibia as a wreck and rebuilt here. ( Just my theory )

The rolling chassis, now that's a sweet one. The suspension is worth at least a third of the purchase price.... and then there are the 2 diffs !! Pity you will battle to sell the motor.... cause they just don't bloody break !!! :rolling: :rolling: .... One would have to find a GQ (LWB) body and do the cutting and chopping yourself to remove the middle section and then join the front and rear. It would be a sweet project to do... but labour and cost intensive!!

The third is a little lot pricey !!

The Shorty advertised is a petrol TB42 motor, I have a Shorty with the Silver Top TD42 motor. I bought it from someone on the forum.

Since then I installed
- the full Old Man Emu suspension, drop plates, steering stabilizer, castor corrections, coils, nitro shocks etc.
- Complete Air Rite system with Individual controls for each corner.
- ARB Front and Rear Airlockers with the twin head ARB compressor (192l/m)
- Its 24 volt, has dual batteries.
- TNT built a custom 3 inch Stainless exhaust and stainless headers.
- Snorkel
- I had a custom bulbar built similar to ARB just a little more refined and lighter but just as strong
- 12000 lbs winch
- had it tuned by some expert
- 265/65/16 KM2`s

The best of this Patrol is it gives me 10 to 11 km/l at 110km/h oh and it has wipers on the headlights.

So I went and saw the s/cab Troll. Well spotted on the bin Ricster - it is indeed from a newer Troll . The seller didn't know much about the vehicle - said he'd only had it for a few months - bought from a trader, didn't know the history. I noted that the diesel filter had 'August 2011' marked on it - when I asked him, he said he'd only done an oil change since taking it. So too many unanswered questions.

Took it for a drive, a flippen hard drive it is too. Partly the OME suspension, mostly cos it's leaf springs all round.

The bin seemed to fit really well (to my untrained eye). It's definitely quite a bit wider than the Troll body though. Took some pics of how it was mounted - attached!
