Blykbaar is hy bietjie moeiliker as ossewa4x4 roete wat in die selfde area is...

Boerewors rolls braai op roete. waarskynlik met gas.
Bring eie kos (wors & rolls), water/ koeldrank/bier ens..

Sover is daar 7 voertuie wat saam ry. (Mengsel van verskillende fabrikate)

4.5 Patrol (maar natuurlik)
Paar jeeps
landcruiser bakkie

Weet nie wat nog nie sal maar sien..

Roete behoort ons grootste deel van dag besig te hou, daarom so vroeg begin.. ek sal 5:30 by die huis moet vetrek. )

Ek is nie seker presies waar roete "begin" nie, maar dink dis naby Shiyalongudam.

Geniet dit - jou Patrol ry natuurlik voor...

" It sounds as if 7 vehicle are a fairly large group for Piet se Pad. The biggest challenge will be to get back up through the tunnel. That is where the guys encountered the fallen tree on the previous trip, that will have to be chopped/sawed up (Thanks Fanus for the chainsaw). Depending on the weather on the day and the days prior to our trip it might be a bit slippery with plenty of loose rocks that will further slow down the progress.

My suggestion would be that everybody take time to walk that section before everybody attempt it. The removing of the fallen tree will take up some time and this particular section sounds like it will be slow going also for 7 vehicles to get back up. My suggestion would be that lunch is not dragged out in order to start the return journey ASAP. Previous groups were up there until late at night after only starting the return journey around 15:00.

As normal, everybody should bring along recovery gear and especially tow straps that can be used if/when required. I am not sure if and how many winches we will have available. If needed in the tunnel, a winch cable will not be long enough and will have to be extended to aid the process. This might be worst case scenario, but rather be prepared than not. That is the only way in and out and it passes through a bush with no or very little maneuver space. One stuck vehicle will/can block the road for the rest of the vehicles.

I want to stress again that the above is for worst case scenario. I don't want to scare anybody off. There will be some very capable vehicles and drivers and if we stick together and plan properly, we should have a ball of a day.....just don't make any other plans for Tuesday afternoon/evening....otherwise you just might end up in the dog box."

In teendeel: die persoon wat die roete al gery het, se discovery het verkoue en gaan nou saam my ry.... Patrol gaan maar die Jeeps moet pad wys.. ,

Ek het ongelukkig nie n geleentheid gehad om die boom wat voorheen die roete versper het, af te saag nie. Iemand wat die roete voor ons gery het, het dit gedoen...
