Communications what are we going to use?

I have a 12Mhz and VHF. We may need a common channel programming if we go VHF.

I have Bosvark UHF
It works well enough.
Stations are public though.

With proper arial in car I believe soem have picked up at 20km.
Else i guess a few km. But most of its use to me is when driving in convoy. So range is less important to me.
