Swazi trip = Moegatle !!!!!
This is the second "official" Patrol trip for 2016....
Swazi trip – Friday 18 March to Monday 21 March
Friday 18 March
Meet at the Roses Engen – ttba
Travel in a group to Oshoek border post (2nd option Nersten border post)
Ensure all gets through the border post
Fill up on fuel
Travel to the Camp site.
Set up camp
Receive meat orders (order form post on p29)
Fire – braai, and Germaanse bruis drankies
Saturday 19 March
Early to rise to ensure we will be able to cover the route.
Doing either the North or the South route - to be decided on the day.
Lunch break on the trail of maks 45 min
Return to camp
Fire – braai, and Germaanse bruis drankies
Sunday 20 March
Second half of the route.
Lunch break on the trail of maks 45 min
Return to camp
Fire – braai, and Germaanse bruis drankies
Monday 21 March
Get up, pack up and go home, no need to rush all on their own time....
Info about the trip
Plan for 1,000km round trip excluding the two 4x4 routes.
Fuel in Swaziland is cheaper in SA and they except “R”
Camping – free (purchase meat from owner) - (order form last post on p15)
Documents required
Valid Passport (more than 6 months left)
Unabridged certificate for minors
If only one parent affidavit from other parent giving permission for travel
Vehicle registration documents (certified copy)
Letter from the bank if vehicle is financed
ZA sticker on vehicle
Cost
Fuel for aprx 1,000km round trip
Fuel for aprx 150km 4x4
R100 Swaziland road tax
R to Emalangeni is 1:1
Swaziland does have shopping centres in case you have wondered. Don't take meat across its illegal
Meat to be ordered beforehand and paid on arrival
Pls note everybody must be 100% self-sufficient for this trip (food, drinks, wood etc)
Camp site
There will be a base camp with site toilets, no showers and security during the day.
Campsite is located next to Swazi candles
Swaziland
Visitors and Returning residents entering Swaziland can bring in consumable goods for their own consumption, like food (not intended for commercial purposes or sale) to the value of ZAR 1000.00 per individual, and ZAR 2 000.00 per family traveling together (one such importation per day). Additional goods above these allowances are liable for 14% V.A.T.
Route
The plan is to drive the Swazi Rec Raid (SRR) routes. It consists of 2 legs of approximately 150km combined off road
The two routes will then be done over a period of 2 days, going North and South alternating over the two days.
There are some challenging obstacles but we won’t break/damage vehicles with the necessary care taken.
We will be going in one group maksimim of 40 vehicles.
Lunch break of 45min maks.
