@kagiso

I think the Maverick was for Aus, the Ford Maverick here was a ...bit of a joke car :-)

I wouldn't mind a double cab Patrol bakkie, but that seems to not be much of an option lol.

I would prefer petrol. :-)

Sorry, I should have thought you had considered the obvious.

Assuming the car does shorten up enough, there is of course also the option of having some custom bar work done here?

Never assume I have thought of the "obvious"! Ha!

I have even considered taking it off, cutting it into 3 pieces and getting it welded back together in SA.

However I have to admit, buying a vehicle in SA for what shipping/etc would cost me sounds like a much better idea than shipping my Colorado.

- spare parts for a Patrol or Toyota are vastly easier to get than for a US only model Chevrolet
- my truck would have at least 225k on it when it arrives on SA, I bet I can get a Patrol with under 200k
- as much fun as my Colorado would be, it would be a challenge in your tiny parking lots and on narrow tracks with other vehicles.
- if it stays in the US, I will still be able to use it once I leave Africa, and to be honest I didn't expect it to do Africa without needing a major overhaul once it got back to the US.

Hi agaqin

Yes -- the Maverick you have on Wiki is a big joke.. BUT have a look at these:

https://www.google.com/search?q=ford+ma ... e&ie=UTF-8

The Nissan Terrano ran as Maverick; The Nissan GQ Patrol ran as Maverick ... and then out of spite, Ford made that car ..
