Of course you are more that welcome just let me know when and I will bring it home and you can take it for a test drive as well. I keep it at work in the basement due to limited space at home.

A lot has been done since the river trip so the car is now really nice to drive, bit hard with the OME but when it it is loaded its a dream.

Anthony,

You've been in the passenger seat in my 'trol when we sourced the new brake lines for you after busting yours at Briekmerk. If you're in the area, and would like to try a GU on for size, give me a call.

Welcome Anthony !!

Great idea to take a GQ and a GU for a spin. Maybe there is a GQ diesel and a GU diesel around before you do the buying of your Patrol so you get a good idea of what the all feel like.

Difference between Cruizers and Patrols...... not much to be honest. Both are great off roading and overlanding vehicles. Cruizers have a front locker, but less articulation than a Patrol, therefore making the front locker almost not necessary. Having said that, with the incredibly over designed drive train, locking too many things up can sometimes be more destructive to more expensive parts than needed. You will hear stories about the rear difflock being the weak point on a Patrol.... yip, but I'd rather break a difflock than a whole diff or sideshaft. But don't write off the Cruizers either. They are also as good as a Patrol.

Before you buy the Patrol, let Graham ( pathfinder on the forum ) have a look at it. he does this for free for us Patrol guys, and he will give you a 100% honest opinion and possible issues to be aware of. Many, many, many of us know him very well and will vouch for him.

If you ever are in the Alberton area, you are welcome to take my Iron Maiden for a twirl, cause you will love the smell of diesel in the mornings and real trucks don't have spark plugs...... :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:

Anthony - yes. Not quite up the road, but not too far either... Besides, I seem to recall that you do some work in Brits occasionally, and I would like to get you to have a go in a pure petrol power 4.5 GU before Cedric gets his tentacles into you and convinces you that clouds of diesel smoke are to die for... :)

In any case, the offer stands. If you are in the area, please ping. :)
