Who else is going to the Rust de Winter Jamboree this coming weekend? It's to be my first Patrol outing.

I am off to Namakwaland dou voor dag on Friday. But there are a few folk I know of from Brits heading that way. Drive safe, have fun, and pics or it never happened....

Re: Rust de Winter Jamboree 27 - 30 April 2018
As in the years past, the Rust de Winter Jamboree was loads of fun. However, it seems it is not nearly as challenging as previous years. In reality, it is the stellar off road performance of the Patrol that I did not expect.
I understood in theory what the articulation would do for me, and knew in an academic sense that the muds would give me better grip and that the difflock should help. My Hardbody doesn't have any of these, and wow, does it make a huge difference. The Patrol makes quick work of rocks, sand and mud.
There were some casualties. I was told this would be one of the first things to happen to me. The rear bumpers on either side are destroyed. The bumper tail lights are held in place by duct tape. I also nicked one of the tail lights and the body around it. I really need to get a decent bumper for the rear.
And then there was the couple who did a backflip with their Suzuki on the mountain route. They were fortunate to not suffer any serious injuries, but the Suzuki appears to be in a very bad state.
My wife is still editing the photos, and I was too busy having fun to take photos, but above is a slightly muddy Patrol back home. The car wash team washed her twice to get her cleaned up.

Looks as if it was fun, Paul.
Pity about the damage as well as the Suzuki. Never nice to see things like that happen. Downside of SWB vehicles and steep inclines.
For what it is worth, someone did post a video of the SJ incident on 4x4 community.
