Hi All
Now that I am in SA, got my Patrol and kited it out I need to go somewhere with it. I have decided to drive up to Barra in Mozambique and stay at the Campells Bay Lodge. Has anyone ever stayed there? or know someone who has. It is very nicely priced at 1100 Rand a day for a self catering house on the beach. As this is my first time going away I want it to be special so the misses will want to do it again, any tips would be helpful.

Re: Barra Mozambique
Hi Gilad, glad to hear the Patrol's sorted and that you're settling in...
We haven't been to Barra (or the Inhambane province, for that matter) in many years, but will offer you some advice until the clever folks start to reply: Consider sleeping over instead of attempting to complete the whole journey in one day!
We normally stop over just north of Maputo at a place called Casa Lisa. They offer simple chalet lodging at fair rates, or you may opt for A-frames/open camping if you're feeling more adventurous. They also have a decent restaurant & pub where you can get your first taste of 2M/Laurentina/Manica beer & some spicy Mozambican chicken
