Thank you very much for this post - it was very useful. We're doing basically your route but the other way round - ihaha, linyanti, savuti, kwai, maun. I think ive over catered on fuel big time though now that I read this - I'm planning on taking 6 jerrys, so I'll have a total of 255l between the Jerrys and tanks when we leave kasane!
From what I can see you had no worries with running low on fuel on that stretch hey?

Graham, we did the same (except we missed Linyanti) in 2012. We also did three days of fairly intesive game-driving in both Savuti and 3rd Bridge, and on 200l, I still had enough for another drive in Chobe.

But some of my companions only had 175l, and that was not really enough. They managed to reach Kazangula (as there was no petrol in Kasane itself), but they were on fumes.

Shoo Peter you're up early today!
Thanks for the info. I think I might as well just take all the cans with me, I've made the brackets etc for all of them already and I'd hate to always be thinking we can't go down this or that road because of fuel. My wife would kill me if that were the reason.

Graham - I would think extra 100 ltr should be more than enough...but if you have space for more, then why not!
Also depends on how many days you there and how much driving you planning to do of course, and no one knows that better than you.

Thanks Chris!
I think I'll stick with the 6 cans. I have the space and got the brackets sorted already, so might as well. Can't flippen wait now!

Chris, what was the biggest stretch between filling stations?
I only have a 33L sub tank and two jerry's so my range is only about 1,100 on avarage.

Reason for asking is that I prefer to not tow a trailer and this makes you pak VERY carefully. Loading 4 jerry cand vs 2 makes a huge difference with space.

I really want to see Namibia again and visit some places that I missed on our previous trip.
