Polish Patrols

Post by Alex Roux »

A couple fo weeks ago my wife and I went to Poland for a wedding of a friend.
So we decided to make a trip of. Poland was a pleasant surprise, in more ways than one.
Being a Patrol fan, my eyes tend to catch one whenever passing by.
There are not too many 4x4s in Poland, but more often than not, if it is a 4x4, it is a Patrol.

This particular one is owned by the guesthouse owner we stayed at in a small town called Lesco.

With the limited English of the owner we still managed to establish that we own the same vehicle.
His response was: "Patrol, yes, very good machine"
It has 38,5'' tires on 15'' rims.
Such tires seem to be necessary as their 4x4 terrain tends to be either snow and mud, rather than rocks and dunes.

Also, I think these photos may be useful for bumper design ideas.

Youtube is not short of Polish Patrol entries:
Skilpad, Shortie, Toro & Masewa

Great and looks as if they use them for what they are built to do.

Not sure if they ever got the TD42T or TD42Ti in Europe.
Could also be an RD28Ti
2.8 litre, turbo, 6 Cylinder, with intercooler
95kw @ 4000 R/min & 252 Nm @ 2000 R/min

Looks like they shipped the GR II series with just about every available Nissan engine. There's even A Terrano 2.7 engine, as well as a 3.2 diesel:
