Not being as clever at maths and geometry as you guys I initially ordered my bumper with no swingarm and "we will see". Once bumper was fitted I measured the height from bottom of rim to under wheel arch with wheel on door. Then loosely fitted the swingarm with the spare.

Difference was less than 1 mm on right and left stayed the same. My wheel is approx 170 mm away from the door to allow for more "stuff" to be fitted.

Now once "The Firetruck" stops doing a "Ford Kuga" to my cash I would like to fit a 2nd swingarm on the left for 60 l fuel and my recovery tracks. So I put my 100 kg on the back bumper as far back as I could and got my son to measure. Surprise surprise. 2 mm on each side.

The one thing that is relevant here is that I do have the hardest 400 kg OME springs on the back.

Your bumper is coming on very nicely Ian.
Now that I read about your build it brings back so many memories of when I built mine.......not all of them good.

I was blessed to have a welder that worked for me at that stage, so my main job was to just hold the plates still and have him do the welding...... way easier.

Sjoe Ian 400kg springs ...isn't that a bit stiff ??are you going to tow something heavy aswell
I've gone an extra 100kg s up on mine and I tow 21foot ski-boat and has no problem with the back of the patrol....

I have 400kg rear coils and it's actually not that hard. I got the Patrol with them in so it was not my choice.

I must say you can feel it is quite a bit harder than the lower rated coils, but not unpleasant.

Same comment as Michael but if I was buying again would probably do the 200 kg as it does interfere with articulation.

Well I actually got some good flex at moegatle so doesn't seem like the 400kg coils influence the flex at all.

I must just add that my sway bars front and rear was removed on this day.

Thanks Michael. Also cannot wait to get it done, but this all depends on time. This weekend, I won't get a chance to work on it at all, as I've got stuff to sort out on Saturday, and a church thing on on Sunday. So, I've got to be patient. I'll post pics as I progress...

At this point, whilst I'm very chuffed with my handiwork, I cannot say my memories are particularly pleasant. The issues with the tow bar. The flash burns and arc eyes... Anything but pleasant actually... But I think it will be awesome / worh it when it's done.

But look at mine. Swaybars where connected but flex is not great. Maybe yours are a bit more worn
