More progress this weekend. Got the bumper fitted and the back plate cut on Saturday, but didn't have a chance to tack it together. So I ended the day with the bumper looking like this:

On Sunday morning, I got the back plate tacked in place, and the bumper now looks like so:

Overall, I'm very happy with the progress. I'd obviously like to have been finished already, but I only have the weekends for this stuff...

Oh yes - this is the smallest I've ever ground a baby-grinder disk...

I'm going to be taking the build so far in to be properly welded some time this week. After that, I can start on the tricksy bits which run around the corners. Not overly looking forward to that part, because I think it is going to be ueber difficult, maarnouwat. I guess it has to be done...

Wilkie,

What do they say about great minds ? :)

Nicely done - hope you get it sorted by next weekend.

Have one question regarding your step. My original step plan looked identical, but I gathered that my spare wheel still caught on the corner of the step when opening / closing the door. This is the reason I have the funny "angled" corners on my step. Not sure if you've tested with the spare wheel on, but thought I'd mention it as it would be awful to put in so much work only to find one has difficulty opening / closing the door.

Other than that, nice work. Looks good. :)

Hi Ian looking good  Probably a stupid question but are your high lift jack points too close to your recovery points? Even with the high lift extender thing are not going to only have a few cm in the hole??

Ian, thanks.

I tested before putting them on. I think they're OK.
