Quite a lot of progress this weekend!

Michael is busy painting all the doors and drawers for me, because my painting sucks. That is, all the doors except the one I forgot to unload from the car...

I also put the tent on this afternoon, but still need to edit the photos.

Still a lot of work to do though: a bit more structure to the body, sealing strips and catches for all the doors, electrics, water, grommets for wiring and pipes, the big drawer that goes on the back, some ventilation for the fridge cupboard and mudgaurds.

But at least there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel now.

After lots of reading and thinking and rubbing of pennies, I went with quite a high-tech power system: the Mk5 power panel from HCdP. This contains the following:
1) 12A DC/DC charger with automatic bypass (thus if it is receiving 12V power, but there are loads (like the fridge) running, it will run the loads off the input power rather than the battery, and still deliver the full 12A to the battery. It also only switches off at 12.5V input power. Thus, you can "steal" some power from the vehicle's battery without having to run the car's engine.
2) A four-stage temperature-controlled 220V AC charger, also capable of delivering 12A to the battery. One of the four stages is a float-charge maintenance cycle, so it can permanently maintain the battery.
3) An MPPT solar controller capable of handling 270W.
4) Four seperate 12V DC outputs, for the fridge, water pump, lights and power sockets. There is a master 12V switch switching everything on or off, and dedicated switches for the pump and lights, but all four the circuits have self-resetting fuses.
5) If there is 220V input, there is also 220V output, two plugs on the panel and a further four plugs mounted in a cupboard close to the kitchen. This circuit has a breaker and earth leakage trip switch.
6) 2 5v USB outlets.
7) A battery monitor measuring amps or volts.
220V outlets: 12V outlets: And a geayser: There are two sets of two taps (hot and cold)

The kitchen, with drawers closed: All drawers open: And the rear box: So, apart from a hell of a lot of finishing and fixing, the only major bits left to do are the mud-guards.
