Luckily the GL model don't come with passenger airbag..... only the GLX model. Then you don't take that piece of the pod to ensure your airbag will still deploy........ HOWEVER...... If you have an aftermarket bullbar.... will your airbag still deploy????? I seem to recall reading something on the TJM sticker on my aluminium bullbar that some airbag sensors or something like that must be disconnected as there are no more crumple zones

Well.... an update...

I have been sanding..... and sanding..... and sanding to get the look of the dash gauge pod looking perfect. Oh did I mention that I sanded and sanded..... and sanded some more. I understand why something like this can cost a pretty penny. Many man hours involved, but now it looks good. It is as smooth as a baby's butt and the curves ( the biggest problem ) flow now nicely into each other.

Here are some pics of the process leading up to the smooth finish and curves. I started the fibreglass mold ( it is a split mold ), and landed up being short of resin, so only got the one half of the mold made up. I will get some more resin and either take the first part mold off the plug to see the finish and make the necessary modifications before making the final mold to be able to make castings for the dash gauge pod. I never took pics of the fibreglassed piece, so will have to take a few and post them up.

I recon it will come out looking like a factory designed and finished product, especially once there is a vinyl or mock suede finish on it !!
