Hello JG

Because I weld about as well as the Ystervoel, I have used mostly mild steel. However the main cover box is aluminium, and upon reflection the lid should probably have been Stainless Steel rather than mild steel.

Metalwork cost would be less than R1000, and my cloth cost me R450, excluding labour. Unfortunately the seamstress I used (mom) seems disinclined to do it again.

Once again I expect a substantial cost reduction if a bunch of guys want to buy.

Here are some more decent pictures.

Cheers
Peter

Peter,

I will definately be interested, even without the cloth part...second prize though. I believe that the bracket can be tilt up side down to fit the awning on the left side of the car? The configuration when the drawer system is installed in my car, lives from the left side.

Hello JG

I will have a look see if I can find somebody who is prepared to do the sowing at a reasonable cost.

The problem with fitting it upside-down are the mounting points, however it should not be too difficult to make a left-handed model.

Alternatively perhaps I should make it basically without mounting points, as different roof racks will in any event require different mountings?

Regards
Peter

Hello Pieter

My roofrack is 'n Outback en is 2.2m lank.
