Binoculars

Post by Johann 1984 »

Dear Patrol Friends,

Hope you folks are doing very well and hopefully have a holiday break in sight, even if just a rest over Christmas.

I was hoping you guys can suggest a decent pair of AUTOFOCUS / INSTAFOCUS binoculars. I had 7x50 TASCO autofocus but got lost somehow during our relocation. It was a very handy and easy item. My wife bought me a Nikon 8x42 manual pair and I hate it. Can't ever get both eyes to focus and doesn't feel near the visual quality and magnification of the TASCO. I see the NAVSTAR 10x50 autofocus is very affordable everywhere but it looks like a piece of nonsense to be honest. Especially the cammo colours.

I do like CANON but their prices start @ R5000. I am not willing to spend so much.

Is there anyone who can direct me to a good AUTOFOCUS and retailer?

Thanks in advance for this less traveled knowledge

Johann

Googled far and wide Peter but can't find a retailer or that specific model.

In that case, sorry. I have very limited experience with this type of binocular and far prefer manual-focus versions for their narrow depth of field which makes spotting birds in brush far easier.
