is there a difference between the petrol and diesel jerries (other than the colour)? I have 2 yellow diesel one's that I'm thinking of using for petrol if I cannot swap them before my trip next week. I read on a new one today that it should only be used for diesel...

should be same as far as I know - colour difference is a safety precaution so you dont get mixed up and put wrong fuel in car.
Paint them green with a spray can and write Petrol on the side with a koki pen! :eureka:

Is it steel or plastic ones. Steel wont be an isseu. But the platic ones are a problem. The plastic compounds are different for the drifferent feuls.
