Guys, by way of a quick update, in the end I simply purchased one online from Campcover. It is a plain black version but it is very well made and it fits absolutely perfectly. For the price of a bit over R 500, it was the best deal of the lot.

So on the issue of spare wheel cover, does anyone know how to remove the plastic one? Not to get the tyre out, but to remove it completely from the vehicle. I would rather get a canvas one cause the plastic cover rattles too much

Make sure the big barndoor latches on top as well. You'l get a rattle from the door when it"s not latched top and bottom

I checked the barn doors they are latched up. Don’t know if it’s wear or tear but the plastic cover just snap shut as tightly as it should . Don’t think it will fall off, it’s “hooked” in. Maybe he hooks are a bit bend
