Re: My Survey - Your Suspension Kit
I took my current Patrol (Y61) there just more than a year ago and they raised the suspension by 60mm front /65mm rear and also 2mm thicker wire coils. The cost was about R3500 IIRC and I am very happy with the result.

Re: My Survey - Your Suspension Kit
Good afternoon everybody
Since I have started this thread, a proverbial "large number of liters of water has run into this ocean". I had considered numerous options of suspension solutions and have, finally and about a month ago, decided on fitting a full Pedders Trackryder Raised Kit - including shocks, coils, bushes, steering damper, caster correction the full Monty.
My decision were based on:
Testimonies by Forum members
Testimonies by members on Aus Forums, etc
Affordability
Access to the supplier from Harties
Just my feel for trying out something new.
The kit was installed by Pedders Performance Centre and 4x4 in Paulshof JHB - literally down the street from where I am working. I know the people from the previous BroadAcress Fitment center here in Fourways.
The installation was very professionally done (Steve and Gavin treated me with utmost respect and dignity) and I gained about 25mm at the rear and and 10 in front over my previously installed Old Man system. From the word go, when I got the vehicle back, the difference was noticeable - body roll, nose dive and general tarmac instability - GONE.
Took the Patrol off-road a number of times since installation and yes, the same results off-road - excellent handling all round off the beaten track.
My biggest testimony thus far came from a tarmac experience I had on Thursday of this week when travelling from Harties to Fourways on the R512. A tree has, due to the ample rain, fallen over and was blocking the whole of the left hand lane where I was travelling. This was on the low water bridge about 5km's from Lanseria. I was travelling at about 80km per hour down hill when the tree suddenly appeared in front of me. I only had time to jerk the Patrol sharp to the right or I would have gone straight through that tree.
Experience - again - no body rolling, swerving or slipping and sliding all over the place - the Patrol just reacted, side stepped the tree with ease and I was able to continue safely - needs to be mentioned as well - BFG KO2 AT's on. Praise the Lord for his grace and reliable components!!
The suspension system cost me 21k and carries a 3 year , 60k km warranty.
Shall I recommend this solution and Pedders Performance Centre and 4x4 ? Without a doubt!!

Re: My Survey - Your Suspension Kit
Thanks for the review George. Glad you are happy!
Are the shocks adjustable at all, ie adjustable damping? And how long did the installation take?
Post some pics of the setup for me

But what was the lift kit figure?
Is it 2" 3" or 4"?
I recon its more than 2" with the need for caster correction.
Also keen to see some pics, thanks for the info.

Re: My Survey - Your Suspension Kit
