Guys, the thing in the pic is part of a towbar setup I had fitted by Graham. Bolts through the factory holes in the chassis rails. Very strong and good for offroad caravans and the like.. But too low for my offroad trailer. Can one buy the thing in the picture in different lengths and rise heights?

That will work. But where to find it or have it made up in a legally compliant form? DIY towbar jobs are a huge risk.

AFAIK, ONCA originally made the bumpers for the patrol bakkie's. http://onca4x4.co.za/
There should also be other towbar manufacturers that got a similiar product.

I had a complete new towbar made up by Autobar in Pretoria. They do a wide range of towbars and may be able to assist you?

Clem - I have a 4.5 towbar, which apparently also fits the 4.8 (bolts from the bottom through the chassis).

You're welcome to it, if you want.

I'll post pictures when I get home.
