Price guide for Spares and Service Parts

We know that spares and parts for our Nissans are sometimes priced out of the ball park, so what if we have a dedicated thread not for discussion purposes, but to share where you got the item from, the area and the best price you got it for. If someone can get it for a better price somewhere else, then please add it to the thread.

Maybe the Moderators could make this a "skicky" similar to the Aussie forum so its easy to find when needed.

Gas struts for the Patrol bonnet

The shocks part number is a 4043 and is pumped to 500nm and cost R104.37 plus vat so two will cost R237.96

The end fittings part number is 144232 you need four at R22.06 plus vat so total is R100.59

So the total is R338.55

The ones from Nissan the top fitting is welded on and the bottom can be removed

Nissan ones come as a left and right don't know why and are R1250 give or take a few bucks

thats a 7times mark up

These are from Diesel-Electric ( Germiston ) 011 825-3100

Thanks to Greg ( Juice ) for this info !!!

For the capetonians - I just replaced both mine for a total of R193.80 from McNaughtans in Parow. Same part number as the ones above for strut but end fittings are K258003. They pump them to whatever your requirement is. Did mine at 375N each - works perfectly but could probably go up another 50N or so

Just a thought, I am based in Dubai. And we have a online parts company, searchable by chassis number. Perhaps they will not stock diesel engine parts, as y61 and diesels were never officially sold here, but all else drivetrain, body it may be worth looking at having it couriered in.
