Spare Wheel Cover

Post by IanT »

Yes I know I am blond!! :helpsign: I got given a brand new (hard cover) spare wheel cover off a 2013 model, The older ones that I have had in the past are in two parts one that go's behind the spare wheel and stays there perminently and the second bit that unclips to get at the spare wheel. The new one that I have only has the removable section and a section in the middle that you unlock with a key to get at the bolts to remove the spare  Am I missing a bit here do the new patrols only have this removable outer cover??? :helpsign:

Ian, that's what is on my car - the new type you describe. Quite frankly, its a bad idea - the whole thing. All the dust and stuff gets in under the cover and you can't wash it out without removing the cover - which is a PITA. I'm likely to ditch mine at some stage and just go with a locking wheel-nut. In part also because I'm used hopping on the wheel to get on the roof-rack - no ladders needed for me.

Hi Ian,

I will take it please. I was looking for a new cover as mine has broken off two of the steel clips which I can’t find anywhere.

Can you please PM me your details so that I can arrange to pick it up.

I will bring the case of cold ones along 

Thanks,
Johan
