My Shortie het nog sy oorspronklike TB42 in met vergasser.
Die enigste mod is die Madman watersensor;
O ja, en ek het die 4.5 se valve springs in wat Graham vertroue in het.
Dis vir my regtig ‘n lekker enjin as hy eers reg ingestel is. Vergasser was deeglik gediens. Dit help dalk dat die kar ligter is as die stasiewa. Maar baie lewendig vir sy ouderdom. Vreet net vreeslik in die verkeer.

Tb42 en gearbox is vas op mekaar.
Die safari waarin die een kom, en die lykswa se los onderstel, is identies (alby het die transfercase wat 7cm nader aan die gearbox is. Elkgeval, ek gaan nou sommer die engine maak pas op die oop lykswa onderstel, al die brackets klaar maak, en dan sal engine net so in pas in die ander safari. Net makliker om dit op die oop onderstel te maak pas.

Horisontale posisie is bepaal, engine mountings verander. Nou net spacer blocks maak om hom te lig tot regte hoogte. Dan kan ek gearbox mounts en crossmember maak, propshafts se lengtes verander, en klaar.

Ek is bevrees die tb42 gaan nie gebeur nie. Voor dit nog in is, ruil ek nou die tb42 vir vk45
