I think it has been discussed before, but I am unable to find it. How does one stop the irritating chime when you open the driver's door with the key in the ignition?

Dwergie's Jimny Zook also has that .. it is there for SWAMBO people AND the new age yuppy type mannetjies
I was considering to just undo the switch in the door frame that activates when you open the door .. the roof light I can mos switch on and off myself .. BUT then the alarm is also de activated ..
THANX for the advice of teh switch in the steering colomn .. hope the Zook has the same

Are you sure, I do not want to 'unplug' the whole car, I do not trust all the electronics on the newer cars. I once towed a small trailer and when I switched on the headlights, the car went into limp mode. Turned out the wiring on the trailer was not standard.

I have disconnected mine and took pics of it. I wil see if I can find it.
Its not dificult to ID the plug. It is a cable seperate from the rest and only has 2 wires.

Guys ..if you take the steer wheel colum cover of you will see a little two pin plug from your ignition barrel...just unplug it and the buzzer is gone
it takes you max 5minutes and a dop and the irritation is gone..... and all you need is a star (Philips )screwdriver
