Patrol Insurance

Post by Michael »

Ok so after this topic has been discussed briefly on this topic, I thought we could discuss it here.

I pay quite cheap insurance and it comes down to R345/month. This premium includes no excess but only covers me inside RSA.
Now I actually did not know that I was not covered in any of my "outside of RSA" outings...... well I asked my broker so still waiting for an answer on this.

What is an affordable alternative when doing over landing?
I got a quote from Tuff Stuff a couple of years back, but it was too much for me.

What do we do?

Ok so update from my broker.

Seems like I am covered for any accident, hijack or theft outside of RSA as well......BUT no coverage for getting the salvage back to RSA (and this is quite costly).

Another thing which I am waiting for is whether I am covered when doing a 4x4 trail or not.
Santam (which is where the broker insured me) does have a new 4x4 cover. I will share my quote when I receive it...... the delay is that they cannot find the Patrol wagon on the system, but only the LDV and it does not fall under 4x4

Dink my versekering maandlikse premie is ook omtrent daar rond. (per voertuig).

Al twee my patrols en huishoudelike versekering is by auto & general.
Tuffstuff se kwotasie was omtrent dubbel gewees...(eas ek reg onthou).

My insurance is nearly three times that, but includes specified accessories to a value greater than that of the car (which is enough to send most insurers running to the hiĺls) and recovery from SADC countries and medical repatriation...

I suspect it's time to down-vrade though.
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.

Interesant Fanus

Sal graag wil weet of daai "cross border recovery" ingesluit is.

Meeste mense doen een of twee keer in hul lewe 'n trip per voertuig buite landsgrense..

Talk to Tuff-stuff.
Part of Ream Insurance Brokers and Western National is the underwriter
Tel 0861 44 44 00

All my household goods and all my cars with them for the past year now.
Includes all events in SADEC, and Herman Engel can come and fetch you in his Iveco 4x4 flatbed if you are badly stuck / break down in 4x4 territory.
24/7/365 - TUFFASSIST Roadside Assistance and International Medical Evacuation

Also not that expensive.
I have not claimed with them either yet, but the 4x4 Community guys have and rave about their service on claims too.

Dag Maats.

Waarvan alles gespesifiseer was.
