Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

How likely is a Patrol to get stolen? Mostly out of curiosity but slightly serious as well - how well do I have to look out for ours?

I have heard of Fortuners, Hiluxes and even Isuzus or Fords being stolen or hijacked but not one single report of a Patrol being stolen.

Your inputs and experiences appreciated!

I have not heard of any being stolen. Never say never though.

On the other hand, if one does get stolen, one would probably find it around the corner, out of gas, with a note saying: "Thanks, but we'd rather walk"

Never found it.
I used to check the Insurance reports on car thefts when I was Risk Management at PremOff. Nissan Terrano ONE stolen in four years.
The car with the least thefts of all was a Honda Prelude, black.
Most stolen were Mazda 3232 / Ford Meteor and Golf and WHITE Toyota Hi Lux bakkies .. they were top of the pile.
I cannot remember checking om Patrol because in those days we had Terrano and Sani .. Patrol was not on my horizon even

Ja, probably by a jealous toy driver....

There has been a report of one on this forum. In about 6/7 years of my reading it.

I enquired with my insurance company a couple of years ago.

They had had none stolen but there had been 3 stolen before 2010. All used in cash in transit heists to force the vehicle off the road...
