Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

Apparently options to measure lift height is to measure 1. from the centre of the rim up to the wheel arch (flair) or 2. bottom of spring seat (front axle) to bump stop, and subtract factory height from measurement. What's the factory height for 1. and 2. ?

Or if there's another accurate method, please share (include factory height please).

According to the guideline SJC posted, I have a 2.4" (6cm) back and 1.6" (4cm) front lift. Is it possible this was a 3" (7.62) lift initially, but sagging springs have lowered it?

What brand suspension? I have heavy duty front and rear. Front bullbar with winch. Rear empty drawer system. In the rear it is almost 20mm higher then infront when not loaded. This is on a 2" lift. Maybe you just have heavy duty coils in the back.
According to me the correct way is toe measure from the bottom of the rim through the centre to the arch.

I think Josh has hit the nail on the head.

With OME you get 400 kg springs for the back which gives me 65 mm lift.

For the front the most heavy duty is 100 kg which gave me my 50 mm lift when I put them on but has sagged to 25 mm now and are about to be replaced under warranty.

The weight rating refers to the weight over and above the normal as per the manufacturer.

OME also has standard for the front and standard, 100 kg and 200 kg for the back.

If your coils are OME and they still have the stickers you can google the code to see what you have.

Bit off the topic, have to replace back shocks (one is leaking), so who do the Cpt guys use for suspension? Safari centre quoted about 2300 for new OME's (650 to fit), 4x4 Megaworld slightly more. I'm on a very tight budget, so also phoned for quotes at the "normal" places and got feedback like Monroes (heavy duty) 1100 each, etc. I know this is not ideal, but I have to consider cheaper alternatives.

Rudgar is running with pro-fender shocks from LA Sport. He is very pleased. Its on a Hilux though. But from what I read and taking his comments in mind i recon they should be worth a look. And for those of us who know him. Knows how he drives that hilux

Hi Donald
If your budget is currently very tight why don't you look out for a set of original / used set of Nissan springs & shocks. Many forum members have replaced the original suspension with an aftermarket setup and might have the original parts still laying around. They have been trading on the forum for ~ 1000-2000 R.
I do have a sett but due to the distance and potential transport cost this will be of no use for you. If you think this is an option for you then check out with the CPT forum members.

G man also most times have some smaller lift shocks and coils avaliable
