I'm literally shocked, at after reading that, the people posting on that thread actually still try and convince themselves (And newbie's - even worse) that its not that bad and the Disco is a "great vehicle", "Still love my Land Rover","Not all that bad","Apart from having to rebuild the motor and diffs its been perfect"...What absolute bollocks. 99% of the comments on there were on vehicles with less than 150 000km on the clock.

Give it up guys,... i cant believe they still try hang on to this dream that one day it will all be ok . It wont. It will be expensive. And prob leave your family stranded. History tells us this. Not me.

To get into a vehicle and not worry at all about the lifespan and reliability of the entire drivetrain is such a good feeling. I wish everyone on that thread could experience it....

Sold my Disco 3 also had problems with it!! Now have a Disco 4 if it breaks it is Land Rovers problem for the next 5 years!! Would I take it into the middle of Botswana ?? No bloody way I do not have a PHD in computer programming!! That is why I have a 4.8 Patrol for those types of trips!! But the Disco is a fantastic vehical to drive on a day to day basis as long as you don't drive too far away from civilisation :mytwocents:

I was also shocked to see that people are willing to spend the price of a GQ or a 4.5 on maintenance. :surprised: Strange what some people are willing to do.

This is one of those strange phenomena of human behaviour
Why people keep on buying a particular brand, fail after fail...
The human race is not always as logic as we think we are

Jip no disrespect to the morris minor 4x4 drivers but how do you spent so much on a car and worry every moment about something going wrong costing you like 60k for air suspension. ...i can only afford to have 1 family holiday car so petrol patrol it will be.....only pay at the pump :mytwocents:
