1st Patrol questions
Morning wise ones,
I hope this is being posted in the right section, otherwise feel free to move it.
I'm the process of purchasing my 1st Patrol, a 2001 GRX 4.5 with 216 000km on
Now in the process of looking at the vehicle, a few things have been bugging me, so hopefully you guys can point me in the right direction before I buy a dud.
1. The vehicle has been advertised for several months, the dealer insists it's only been on for 2 months, but I know for a fact this is not true. It was also advertised as having 189 000km on, now has 216.
2. The vehicle was very dirty, but does look to have been well maintained (battery was dead and dust came out of the vents when starting it)
3. (This is my biggest concern) the vehicle has a full service history, however the last service was done on 189 000km - in 2010!!
4. The clutch has a bit of a 'ticking' noise when depressed, possibly a bearing?
5. Some minor seepage on the diff pumpkins and transfer case, but no leaks.
6. Some minor surface rust underneath the vehicle, can be rubbed off with a finger, so possibly just an ocean vehicle?
Hope you guys can help me out, like I said, the service issue is my biggest concern.

Soos Herrie se, laat frans (tourdefrans) vir jou na die kar kyk. Die groot ding is die oudredom van die olie in die enjin. Dit verloor sy smeebaarheid soos dit ouer word. Gewoonlik is die diens interval 10 000 km of 12 maande / 15 000 km of 12 maande. As dit nog die olie van 2010 is, sal ek bietjie skepties wees. As mens dit aftap sal daar klonte (jelly) uitkom. Dit beteken ook die gries is van 2010 af. Dit kan dalk probleme met van die bearings gee alhoewel ek tweifel dat daar probleme sal wees. Die Patrol bearings is baie goed ontwerp.
Praat met Frans, hy is ook in die Slaap Stad omgewing en sterkte. Jy gaan die kar verseker baie geniet.

Dankie julle, Marino dis waarvoor ek ook bang is - ek reken die voertuig het of lank gestaan, of dalk is die kilo's meer gepeter.
Ekt nou vir die mense laat weet dat ek oorweeg om die deal te kanselleer agv. die diens geskiedenis, nou sê hulle dat die voertuig wel gediens was gedurende daardie tyd, maar dat dit nie in die boek is nie....eish. Toe ek vra vir bewyse van die diens het hulle niks....ek kry al hoe meer 'n slegte smaak in my mond oor die voertuig, dalk moet ek maar liewers weg bly? Te veel rooi flaggies.
Die laaste registrasie van die voertuig was CX-5664

Hoeveel wil hulle vir daai kar he?
Ek koop eerder n voertuig wat jy kan sien hy het gewerk as n skoon een wat begin lek as jy by die deur uit ry....
Lyk heel standard gaan jou n paar rand kos om hom te pimp....
Wat is jou buget?

Daai trok staan vir R139k - ek wil verkieslik nie meer as dit betaal nie aangesien daar nog 'n hele hopie geld eenkant gesit moet word vir petrol ;)
Eendag as ek groot is sal ek 'n 4.8 probeer opspoor.
