Install the Application on my Android Samsung, thanks for the info. Now I need the Bluetooth dongle, are someone buying a couple or have stock? Does it work on a 2000 4.5 GRX and where is it connected to the car? Thanks

The Bluetooth adapters/dongles are a mixed bunch. I have bought 2, the first one I bought worked with Torque on my wife's Toyota, which is standard OBDII protocol. But failed to work on all software with the Nissan , then the NDS II admin advised to get this one

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/291029572855 ... 7977491533

and all good. It seems that not all the Bluetooth adapters are not created equal, and lead you on a wild goose chase, so best to try the adapter first before committing to buy, the ebay I bought was good, service from seller was prompt from hong kong.

May not work with the 2000 model, as it maybe Consult 1 protocol for that ECU, I would have a look on www.patrol4x4.com forum, as they have covered this in depth for many models, I believe that there something called ECUTalk for the consult 1 models.

I have a bluetooth connector, but no software for Windows phones...

I think it will also work great with a logbook device, you just enter every journey details on the phone and your logbook is ready for SARS. Once again no windows 8 app.

I have searched everywhere, but I do not see the EOBD plug on my car - on the GQ, to you plug the bluetooth device straight to the carburettor?

I believe that the GQ is not a OBD connector, and the Bluetooth device that I have listed will not fit. The GQ will use the Consult 1 protocol.

Suggest you go over to the Australian Patrol4x4 forum and read there, it will have been covered.

Vanhack, Marnus is pulling your leg.

GQ is not even consult 1, it is carburettor and points technology. Fault determination is done by ear and with a screwdriver, and repairs are done primarily with a 4-pound hammer...

Doh! Good one.

Ahh the diesel GQ, we don't even have diesel GQs, and probably the carb petrol was without the ECU, but the fuel injected GQ petrol was consult 1.

Infact no one here uses Diesel engines for offroadiong except a few diehard Defender fans. Our diesel is 3 times the price of petrol here.
