Who said there is not much mud in SA?

That said , mt is about the same as the CooperSt max in these pics.

I still say Goodyear duratrac is the best compromise between aggressive tread and usability on road.

Terug na die oorspronlike gesprek...

Ek het tot dusvêr nog net AT's op al my 4x4's gebruik, so ek is in geen posisie om 'n "gekwalifiseerde" mening wat op bewese ervaring gebaseer is, oor MT's uit te spreek nie. Tot op hede het die AT's wat ek al gebruik het, Yokohama, Kumo (KL78 - Cedric.... :wink: ) en BFG my gemaklik gebring waar ek wou wees - en ons was also hier en daar op minder gewone plekke.

Ek is nie 'n "modder-man" nie, so ek het ook nie regtig ervaring hiervan nie.

Wat ek egter so 'n jaar of wat toe ons die Namib van Luderits tot Walvisbaai gedoen het, was dat daar nie 'n merkbare verskil in terme van AT/MT suksesse in die sand in ons groep was nie. Eintlik, om eerlik te wees, die enigste MT wat daar was, was die toerleier - ek ek glo nie die MT's het vir hom 'n verskil gemaak nie - hy kan doodeenvoudig die duine ry.

Persoonlik indien ek eerlik moet wees - die "looks" en "image" van MT's is die eintlike trekpleister. Dit is seker al iewers hier aangeraak, maar ek wonder wat sal die moontlike impak op 'n versekeringseis wees indien daar 'n voorval met MT's op teer gebeur - sal die Versekering gesig begin trek?

Kan nie sien hoe dit n impak op n versekerings eis sal he nie, tensy die spoed of vrag rating nie voldoende is nie.

Nie altyd nie, maar in baie brands is die MT sidewall sterker as die AT.

Ek hou van MT, nie vir sy modder of sand vermoe nie (laasgenoemde weet ek is debateerbaar, maar ek reken nogsteeds vir duine opwaarts is die MT se "roei" vermoe belangrik).

Ek hou van MT vir die weerstandigheid van die sidewall op klip terrein.
