Windforce MT's - any good ?

Post by jan.dup »

I need some advice for a friend of mine (he is a PH and drives on/off road about 50/50. He must decide between Coopers and Windforce 265/70/17 MT tyres. I have no idea on Windforce - are they any good - anybody have some experience with them ?
Price of Coopers more expensive than the Windforce - but is that enough for him to get the Windforce ?

They are quite a bit cheaper than coopers. But maybe not the best "cheaper" alternative out there.

They are chinese.
Does not look like it is LT rated.

I would not be chancing 3 tons of Patrol at speed on an unknown. They may be the best tyres out there but we just do not know.

Cooper STT pro's so far;

1. No wear could be measured after 10 000 km.
2. Tar handling wet or dry is far superior to any other MT I have owned before and in fact better than most AT's previously used.
3. No punctures and have done the Rust de Winter mountain trip and Dune trip and Hennops with them.
4. Have to be deflated to 0.4 bar in sand to get sidewalls to flex
5. Mud - They are ridiculously good for a tyre that is still safe on the road
6. Initially incredibly silent for such an aggressive tread but getting louder but still well below normal
7. Price is not great but if the wear continues like it has price per km may work out cheaper.

If you want to go with a cheaper tyre look at the Generals that Michael has.

[selfde suspensie uitleg as PATROL]

Soos ek se dis my :mytwocents: :mytwocents: :mytwocents:
