Just be sure you get good cable ties. You don't want the thing coming loose and banging up the door / carrier / rim. Also, try and position it so that the padlock shackle does not rub the hole in the rim (refer my post). The cable ties in my pic are the broad, very strong ones you need a serious side-cutter to cut off... :)
Whilst I generally hate cable ties in terms of "general fixes", they hold very well. These were put on after I replaced my rim post accident a week / two ago. The previous bunch had been on for quite a while, and even survived our Moegatle trip. :)

Quick question: what should the sparewheel carrier's bolts be torqued to? (the bolts attaching the carrier to the door).

Moet dit nie over think nie Fanus, vat n ratchet en draai hom vas.
100nm is heeltemal te veel vir n M10 x 1.25
Op n 8.8 tensile bout is maximum 49Nm en op n 10.9 tensile bout is dit 68
